"Science is the Differential Calculus of the mind. Art the Integral Calculus; they may be beautiful when apart, but are greatest only when combined."

The Voyage Within
The Adventures of an artist in the digital world, experiencing the joys of both poetry and programming
about
An English Literature major with no Engineering degree, I took up the technology challenge twenty five years ago. My friends and family wished me well. They also gave me exactly six months to admit defeat. To their great surprise and mine, I embarked on a full fledged technical career, became a RDBMS expert, my last position being CoE Manager for Sybase products, platforms and technologies at SAP Labs India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. I have always been a great admirer of Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace, and daughter of the poet Lord Byron. Ada was presumably the first woman computer programmer and Lord Byron is one of my favorite poets. Incongruous as it may seem, I happen to enjoy the best of both worlds,. Lord Byron, I am sure, would appreciate the irony!

“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
